Window Seat Cushions Buying Guide

Window seat cushions are beautiful, functional and comfortable. Bay windows, playrooms, and bedrooms are ideal places for window seats. If you are looking to customize and build your own window seat, you'll need to order a custom cushion to fit! We have simple instructions to help you get exactly what you want.

How to Measure a Window Seat Cushion

Step 1 - If you have a worn cushion that you want to replace, you can measure it but you may find it has lost its original shape. It's best to measure the space you would like your cushion to fit in. Start by measuring the width (left to right) and depth (front to back) of the area.

Note: Since we make cushions in half-inch increments, you will need to round up or round down to the nearest half inch. For example, if you measure 25 3/4 inches, you'll need to round up to 26 inches or round down to 25 1/2 inches.

Step 2 - Determine the thickness you want. Our cushion are made in one inch increments beginning at 2 inches up to 8 inches. However, the recommended thickness for a standard window seat is anywhere from 2 to 4 inches thick. It really depends on the comfort level you prefer.

Our window seat cushions have the option of a hidden zippers to make removal of the outer shell easy to spot clean.

Custom Shaped Cushions

A lot of window seat cushions are trapezoid shaped like the cushion in the image above. You do not have to send a template for a standard trapezoid shaped cushion. Simply select trapezoid when choosing your cushion shape. You must enter the front width and back width separately, keeping in mind the zipper will be placed on the side labeled Back Width.

Any unusual cushions or cushions that do not meet our standard shapes online will require a template. We can create any custom shaped cushion for you using a template provided by you.
